With the sixth edition of the Engadin Ultra Trail, a new chapter begins: the Engadin Junior Trails.
As one of the first premium races of the Junior Trail Series 2026 by Swiss Athletics, this new format sends a clear signal – for youth development, for passion in sport, and for the future of trail running.
A platform for young trail runners
The Junior Trail Series was created to give young athletes an easy and motivating access to trail running. The focus is not only on performance, but especially on:
enjoyment of movement
experiencing nature
community and motivation
long-term talent development
With the Engadin Junior Trails, this vision now becomes reality in the Engadin.
Discover trail running from the very beginning
The races take place on scenic trails above Samedan, leading through the impressive alpine landscape around Survih, Peidra Grossa, and Pro Schimun.
The routes are designed to suit both beginners and ambitious young runners, offering a perfect balance between challenge and enjoyment.
Race formats at a glance
The Engadin Junior Trails are tailored to different age groups:
U16, U18, U20 → distances of 4.2 km or 7.3 km
Fun category → a playful introduction without performance pressure
This ensures that every participant can find their ideal entry point into trail running.
More than just a race
The Engadin Junior Trails are more than a competition. They are:
an entry point into the trail running community
a platform to support young talents
part of a nationwide development in youth sports
As a premium race, they contribute to guiding young athletes early on and opening up long-term perspectives in the sport.
Shaping the future of trail running together
The Engadin Ultra Trail is proud to be part of this development. With the Engadin Junior Trails, we aim to inspire, support, and grow the next generation of trail runners.
Because the future of trail running is already at the start line. 🏃♀️🏃♂️
